Don't quite know where to post this since the region in unknown to me. I know it is silver and appears to be quite old and handmade. If anyone can shed some light that would be great. I am hoping someone may know what I have here!

Hi,
Letter Z of this form was used on silver in Zürich (Switzerland) for several centuries.

Zurich is correct; the maker is Hans Conrad Lavater (1660-1735; master 1684). I would date this spoon around 1700. Nice find!

Ref: Eva-Maria Lösel, Zürcher Goldschmiedemunst (Zürich: Berichthaus, 1983), p. 241, maker/marks #337

Thank you so much! I really am greatful for this! Any chance I could see a picture of it in the book? I didn't think I was ever going to find out!
