unknown hallmarks - European??

Post by Ag999 »

Any ideas on these hallmarks? A European country? (The mark on the left is unclear, but it's the best I can do.)

Thanks

Hello!
I think, tha hallmark is in the left, it must be a dog's head from Hungary.
In the right is most likely the maker's mark of Polgár Kálmán.
Discussed before here:

Polgár Kálmán (PK) - Budapest, Hungary

Just an update here, with clearer photos, for future reference.

I polished the (very small) Hungarian dog head hallmark with the tip of a wooden toothpick to enhance the shine.

On the left, a "3", then a dog head, then a "P" on the right.

The "3" is for "3rd grade" silver (.800). I'm guessing the "P" is for the Pest district of Budapest.

"Budapest, Hungary’s capital, is bisected by the River Danube. Its 19th-century Chain Bridge connects the hilly Buda district with flat Pest."
