17 June 1681 Thomas son of George Knagg of Loughton in the County of Essex Husbandman apprenticed to Thomas Deane London Haberdasher. His indenture contract is annotated "made mason" at the top, and he used "X" for his mark. (Grimwade has most of this information. This posting just adds a couple details).
