12 January 1737
Commencement of John's partnership with his wife Ann ( according to her will proved in May 1746 )
John was the husband of her daughter from a prior marriage , Mary, who was to inherit the largest part of her mother's estate.
As John is recorded as bankrupt in June 1746, soon after the death of Anne, it seems likely that she had been his source of finance .
