He was christened in 1686 at St Mary, Hitchin.
His brother George was apprenticed to another brother William Ewesdin of the Goldsmiths Company in 1714. William, as with Thomas, had been an apprentice of Henry Grant.
Indentures were signed in 1747 for Humphrey the son of John Whetton staymaker of Tower Hamlets to be his apprentice.
His Will, goldsmith late of London, was proved for probate on 15th June 1761 (National Archives reference PROB 11/188/285).

Re: EWESDIN, Thomas (Grimwade p.505)
It is noteworthy that in this 1761 proved will, Thomas Ewesdin mentions his son's Uncle John Ewesdin late of Hitchin in Hertfordshire and also his son's Grandfather William Ewesdin.MCB wrote:His Will, goldsmith late of London, was proved for probate on 15th June 1761 (National Archives reference PROB 11/188/285).
6 November 1754 Thomas Ewesdin London Goldsmith will proved. TNA / PROB 11/811/454. (Indexed under the name Thomas Ewesden, but clearly Thomas Ewesdin in the image of the will itself.)
Because of the family members mentioned in the 1761 proved will, it appears to be the correct family for this Grimwade entry, but not the correct man. Beyond the name, trade and location, I can find nothing so far that links the 1754 proved will directly to this Grimwade entry.
Re: EWESDIN, Thomas (Grimwade p.505)
After rereading both of these wills, it has become clear to me that the 1754 will probably goes with the associated Grimwade entry. The 1754 will has a bequest to Thomas Ewesdin the son of the elder Thomas's brother William. The 1761 will names William as the father of the Thomas Ewesdin named in this will and nephew of the elder Thomas.silverly wrote:It is noteworthy that in this 1761 proved will, Thomas Ewesdin mentions his son's Uncle John Ewesdin late of Hitchin in Hertfordshire and also his son's Grandfather William Ewesdin.MCB wrote:His Will, goldsmith late of London, was proved for probate on 15th June 1761 (National Archives reference PROB 11/188/285).
