DU CHESNE, Anthony (Grimwade p.287)

He was born Antoine Du Chesne in 1707, the son Claude, a clockmaker and his wife Elizabeth.
He was apprenticed to William Richards (Grimwade p.641) of the Goldsmiths Company in 1721 and free in 1729.
He married Anne Gagnon at St James, Paddington in 1730; both were from St Ann, Soho parish.
He entered a mark at Goldsmiths’ Hall in 1731 as a smallworker from Grafton Street, Seven Dials.
Six children of Antoine and Anne were christened from 1733-40 the records for some being in Huguenot churches in Westminster.
Obediah the son of Jos. Dubois a jeweller of St Martin in the Fields and Edward the son of Thomas Lloyd a frame knitter from St George, Hanover Square both signed to be his apprentices in 1738.
No later information has been found for him in the UK.
