John Holland (Grimwade p.549) of St Giles, Cripplegate in 1703, George Vaughan of Osgathorpe, Leicestershire in 1711 and John Gorham (Grimwade p.526) of St Neots, Huntingdon in 1718 all signed to be his apprentices.
He was assessed to Land Tax on unidentified property in St Ann, Blackfriars precinct from 1711-21, having previously been noted in Foster Lane. The assessment for 1721 is probably a continuation error in view of the following.
The Will of Lawrence Coles, goldsmith late of London, was proved for probate on 28th January 1720 (National Archives reference PROB 11/572/235).
