BEESLY, John (Grimwade p.289, 299)

Post by MCB »

John, the son of John Beesley of the Haberdashers Company, was apprenticed to Thomas Nicholl of the Clockmakers Company in 1709 and made free in 1719.
He entered two marks at Goldsmiths’ Hall in 1720 as a case maker from The Sun, Holborn Bridge.
Page 21 of Watchmakers and Clockmakers of the World lists John Beesley in the Clockworkers Company until 1736 and also suggests he went by the name Basely, Bazeley and Bazeley.
