ATKINS, Richard William (Grimwade p.426, 735)

Post by MCB »

He was christened the son of Michael Thomas Atkins and his wife Elizabeth at St James, Clerkenwell in 1801.
John William Harrison of St Botolph, Aldersgate in 1830 and William Carpenter of Upper Clapton, Hackney in 1834 both signed to be his apprentices. He was shown in these indentures as a silversmith and freeman of the Clothworkers Company.
The 1851 UK Census listed him at Denham Place, Hackney Road as a retired silversmith aged 49 years living with his widowed mother Elizabeth aged 76 years and other siblings.
His Will, late of Denham Place, was proved at the Principal Registry in 1874. He died at Caledonian Place, Shacklewell, West Hackney. The value of his estate was under £5000.
