As a bachelor from St James parish, Clerkenwell he married Sarah Bradshaw at St Leonard, Shoreditch in 1758.
A son and a daughter were christened at St James, Clerkenwell in 1764 and 1766.
He was assessed to Land Tax on property in Little Britain from 1771-73. Widow Whyte was assessed on the property in 1774.
The Will of David Whyte, goldsmith late of St Botolph without Aldersgate, was granted probate on 5th January 1774 (National Archives reference PROB 11/994/48).
