TRENHOLME, Jonathan (Grimwade p.684)

Post by MCB »

He was christened the son of William Trenholme at East Harsley, York in 1705. He was the brother of William Trenholme (Grimwade p.684).
In 1734 as a bachelor of St Alban’s parish, Wood Street he married spinster Lydia Stanley of St Michael’s parish, Wood Street at St Paul’s Cathedral.
Indentures were signed in 1735 for Samuel Shard of St Luke’s parish to be his apprentice.
From 1734-39 he was assessed to Land Tax on property in Wood Street, close by premises occupied by his master Dru Drury (Grimwade p.494-7) and from where he had entered his mark at Goldsmiths’ Hall in 1734. The assessment book for 1740 shows the property empty.
The burial of a Jonathan Trenholm (sic) was registered in 1742 at All Hallows, Bread Street.
The Will of Jonathan Trenholme, Goldsmith of London, was proved for probate on 2nd August 1745. The reason for the delay in proving the Will is not known.
Heal’s record of him in the Wood Street area until circa 1760 seems open to question.
