Post by MCB »

White Walsh of Dorset signed indentures in 1691 to be the apprentice of Richard Sing of the Goldsmiths Company.
He was assessed to Land Tax on property in Carey Lane, St John Zachary precinct until 1711. His name was recorded as Syng, Synge or Sing and from 1708 the rank of captain was added.
The 1712 Land Tax assessment book is missing. The 1713 assessment on the property was in the name of William Looker (Grimwade p.585).
Richard Sing of the Goldsmiths Company is listed in the 1722 London Poll Book but no address is recorded.
Valentine Newman signed indentures in 1726 to be the apprentice of Richard Syng of the Goldsmiths Company.
Richard Sing of the Goldsmiths Company is listed at Rotherhithe in the 1727 London Poll Book.
The Will of Richard Synge, baker and Goldsmith of Rotherhithe, was proved for probate on 2nd October 1732 (National Archives reference PROB 11/654/51).
Joseph, the son of Richard Sing, applied for freedom by patrimony in the Goldsmiths Company in 1734.
