He was assessed to Land Tax on property in Bell Yard, Temple Bar from 1780-99.
As a widower of that parish in 1792 he married spinster Mary Lee of Christ Church, Surrey at St Dunstan in the West.
Their daughter Eliza was christened at that church in 1795.
His burial, late of Bell Yard, was recorded at the same church in 1799.
The Will of John Scofield, Silversmith of Liberty of the Rolls, was proved for probate on 8th July 1799 (National Archives reference PROB11/1327/73).
