PENFORD, John (Grimwade p.618)

Post by MCB »

Elizabeth the daughter of John and Carina Penford was christened at St Gregory by St Paul’s in 1706.
He was assessed to Land Tax on property near Sadlers’ Hall from 1692 and on property in Prujean’s Court, Old Bailey precinct of St Sepulchre parish from 1711-1717.
The Land Tax assessment on the property for 1718 was made on the Widow Penford.
Carina Penford, a widow, married John Ferris at St Anne and St Agnes in 1718. John Ferris was assessed to Land Tax on the property from 1719-29. He may be the John Ferris (Grimwade p.283) who entered a mark at Goldsmiths Hall in 1733 as a goldsmith from Angel Street, St Martin’s Square.
