He was Edmund, son of Edmund Medlycott of Abbington (Abingdon), Berkshire, who signed indentures in 1739 to be the apprentice of James Slater (Grimwade p.660) of the Merchant Taylor Company. The premium was the large amount of £105. He was made free in 1748.
He was assessed to Land Tax on property in Foster Lane from 1749-57. His long time neighbour there was Walter Brind (Grimwade p.449, 738).
Paul Leake (or Leeke) of Dorset signed indentures in 1752 to be his apprentice.
He was assessed to Land Tax on property in the vicinity of Shoe Lane from 1758-59 and on unidentified property in St Michael le Quern precinct from 1762-66.
Thomas (born 1749) in 1772, Robert (born 1753) and William (born 1755) in 1792 and John Medlycott in 1793 all applied for freedom by patrimony in the Merchant Taylor Company.
