Ambrose Lewis (Grimwade p.581, 757) of Kingswood, Wiltshire signed indentures in 1717 to be his apprentice.
Page 172 of Watchmakers and Clockmakers of the World identifies William Jelf as apprenticed in 1708 and free of the Clockmakers Company from 1717-26.
