HEBBERD, Isaac (Grimwade p.542)

Post by MCB »

The 1851 UK Census and an 1856 marriage record show he was born around 1782, the son of William Hebberd, a farmer from Hampshire.
He married Ann Taylor at St Pancras parish church in 1805; both were from that parish.
Seven of their children were christened at St James, Piccadilly from 1807-26. In 1814 their address was recorded as Little Pultney Street and their father as a tinplate worker, in 1822 as a sword cutler from Air Street and in 1826 as a military ornament maker from the same address.
A city directory of 1848 listed him still at the same address as a military ornament maker and sword cutler.
He had moved to 16 Vale Place, Fulham by 1851 and was listed there as a military ornament maker employing 8 men.
In 1856 as a widower he married Mary Ann Cooper at All Saints, Fulham. The record shows he had retired.
He remained at his previous address for the 1861 UK Census and died there in 1868.
His Will was granted Probate at the Principal Registry. His estate was valued at under £5000.
