Last mentioned by Grimwade at St Martin’s Lane in 1716 there is an entry in the 1727 Poll Book at Bishopsgate for Peter Farretes of the Scriveners Company.
The burial of a Peter Farrittes aged 71 years recorded at St Botolph, Bishopsgate in 1730 may be relevant.

Re: FARETTES, Peter (Grimwade p.506)
January 1716 Peter Farettes admitted into the freedom of the city in the company of scriveners by redemption paying forty-six shillings and eight pence. The exact day is given on the paper, but I cannot read these unusual latin numbers that are so common on freedom papers. If anyone knows of a good reference for deciphering dates such as these, please let me know about it. Thank you in advance.
Re: FARETTES, Peter (Grimwade p.506)
This is the date on the freedom by redemption paper. I take it to be a Tuesday in January of 1716 (OS), but the day (die?) and even the month for certain are as yet unknown to me.
