BERTRAM, William (Grimwade p.439)

Post by MCB »

He married Sarah Hyde at St Anne and St Agnes in 1695; he was from St Sepulchre, Holborn parish and she was from St James, Clerkenwell parish.
Their son James Lee was christened and Sarah was buried at St Sepulchre in 1695. Their address was shown as Old Bailey from where William entered a mark at Goldsmiths Hall in 1697.
John Winsmore of Oxfordshire signed indentures in 1699 to be the apprentice of William Bertram of the Clockmakers Company.
Page 26 of Watchmakers and Clockmakers of the World notes William was made Master of the Clockmakers Company in 1732 and died in 1733.
