Indentures to be his apprentice were signed by William Looker (Grimwade p.585) in 1706.
Land Tax assessments were made on Benjamin Bentley from 1721 to 1734 in regard to property in the First Precinct of London Bridge. The records of the time did not identify the road or street. Grimwade’s last record of Bentley is the entry of marks at Goldsmiths Hall from Tooley Street in 1728. Tooley Street was on the Southwark side of the Thames and connected London Bridge with St Saviour’s Dock. The Land Tax assessments probably relate to this address and may extend the time Bentley was known to be in business there.
There was a burial of a Benjamin Bentley, late of Kent Street, recorded in 1740 at St George the Martyr, Southwark which may be relevant.

The Will of a Benjamin Bentley, Goldsmith of London was proved at PCC on 7 September 1734. This ties nicely with the termonation of his occupancy of the property in the First Precinct of London Bridge and may well be his
