HOPTON, John (Grimwade p.366)

Post by MCB »

Goldworker List (Section VII).

He married Harriett Henbury at St James, Piccadilly in 1813; both were from that parish.
He entered a mark at Goldsmiths Hall in 1832 as a gold worker from 13 Pond Place, Chelsea.
The 1841 and 1851 UK Census records show him as a working jeweller born around 1789 and living at Pond Place.
The death of a John Hopton recorded at the Chelsea Registry in 1860 may be relevant; no age or last address is shown on the available information.
