Post by MCB »

Goldworkers List (Section VII).

He was christened John Henry Coles in 1804 at St Giles, Cripplegate, the son of John and Mary Coles. His father was a silversmith.
He appears to have been only 18 years old in 1822 when entering his first mark at Goldsmiths Hall as a gold worker from 92 Red Lion Street, Clerkenwell.
He notified a change of address to 5 Skinner Street, Clerkenwell in 1835.
The christening his daughter Sophia Mary Ann at St John, Clerkenwell in 1836 records his wife as Ann, their address as Skinner Street and his occupation as a jeweller.
His burial aged 35 years was recorded at St James, Clerkenwell in 1839. His last address was Skinner Street.
