Post by MCB »

He entered a maker’s mark at Goldsmiths Hall in 1833 as a watch pendant maker from 9 Brick Lane, St Luke’s and later in the same year advised a change of address to 7 Essex Street, Kingsland Road.
He married Charlotte Inman at St Giles, Cripplegate in 1838.
The 1841 UK Census records him at 12 Charles Street as a watch pendant maker aged 25 years living with his wife Charlotte aged 20 years and daughter Eliza aged 5 years.
Daughter Eliza was christened Charlotte Isabella Eliza at St Leonard, Shoreditch in 1842. Their address and her father’s occupation remained unchanged.
An 1851 UK Census record for him has not been found.
In 1861 he was recorded as a brass finisher aged 46 years, unmarried and living at Ironmonger Row, St Luke’s.
In 1871 he was recorded at 8 St John’s Place, St Luke as a clock key maker and living with a new wife Elizabeth.
His death aged around 69 years was recorded in the Islington register in 1880 .
