GREEN, John Henry (Grimwade p.304)

He was christened the son of John and Mary Green at St Luke, Finsbury in 1794.
He entered a maker’s mark at Goldsmiths Hall in 1819 as a pendant maker from 24 Arthur Street, Goswell Street and notified a change of address to 17 Noble Street in 1820.
A son of John Henry and Eliza Mary Green was christened at the same church in 1822. His father was recorded as a watchmaker from Noble Street.
Two more of their children were christened at St Luke in 1825. John Henry was shown as a pendant maker from Queen Street.
Four more of their children were christened at St Leonard, Shoreditch from 1832-36. Their father was shown as a watch maker and their address was William Street.
He advised Goldsmiths Hall of a change of address to 36 Seward Street in 1836.
By 1841 he was recorded as a silversmith at Clarence Street, Finsbury.
The 1851 and 1861 UK Census show him as a pauper, previously a watch pendant maker and inmate of the St Luke Workhouse, New Hoxton.
His death is recorded in 1862 in the Shoreditch register.
