The 1861 UK Census indicates he was born in Worcestershire around 1794.
He married Sarah Chant at St George, Hanover Square in 1813; both were from that parish.
The christening of a daughter at St James, Clerkenwell in 1827 recorded her father was a watch case maker from Hoxton Market.
Christenings of two sons at St James, Clerkenwell in 1824 and 1827 recorded their address as Lloyd’s Row and their father in the same trade as previously.
He entered maker’s marks at Goldsmiths Hall in 1833 and 1834 as a case maker from 5 Meredith Street, Clerkenwell and continued to enter other marks until 1869.
He was at 25 Meredith Street as a silversmith for the 1841 UK Census and at number 35 as a gold watch case maker in 1851.
His wife Sarah died in 1852; her burial record at St James, St Pancras shows her last address was Meredith Street.
The 1861 UK Census recorded him at 20 Mildmay Park, Islington, still in the same trade.
He died in 1869. His burial aged 75 was recorded at St James, St Pancras; his last address was 34 Mildmay Park.
Probate for his Will was granted at the Principal Registry in 1869; the value of his estate was under £7000.
