PEYTON, Thomas and Jane (Grimwade p.311, 322)

Post by MCB »

He entered a maker’s mark at Goldsmiths Hall in 1788 and 1791 as a case maker from 31 Old Street Square.
There are christening records at St Luke, Finsbury in 1786 for William and 1793 for Thomas, sons of Thomas and Jane Peyton.
The burial of Thomas Peyton was recorded at St Luke on 10th December 1797.
Jane Peyton entered a maker’s mark on 21st December 1797 as a case maker from 13 Old Street Square.
The burial of a Jane Peyton recorded at St Marylebone in 1799 shows no last address but may be relevant.
The application made in 1809 by their son William for freedom of the City of London by patrimony in the Company of Fishmongers records his deceased father Thomas having gained his own freedom in that Company in 1781.
