He was christened John Thomas Whitehouse at St James, Clerkenwell in 1796, the son of David (Grimwade p.699) and Mary and brother of Nathaniel (Grimwade p.284).
He entered a maker’s mark at Goldsmiths Hall in 1822 as a spectacle case maker from 27 Baldwin Gardens and shortly afterwards notified he had moved to 36 Leather Lane.
He married Ann Jones at Christ Church and St Leonard, Foster Lane in 1823; both were from that parish. Also in 1823 he moved first to 26 Grove Place, Goswell Street Road and then to 36 St John’s Lane.
Christening records for three daughters at St James, Clerkenwell 1825-29 show he was an optician from the same address as previously.
His burial aged 50 years was recorded at the same church in 1847; his last address was Yersley Street.

Sorry, but Yersley Street looks like Yardley Street to me in the record.MCB wrote:.... his last address was Yersley Street.
