BARTLETT, Horatio (Grimwade p.297, 337)

Post by MCB »

He entered a maker’s mark at Goldsmiths Hall in 1823 as a watch case maker from 27 Greenhill Rents, Smithfield Bars and others in 1826 in partnership with George Elliot Bartlett as case and watch case makers also from that address.
He married Sarah Ray at St Bartholomew the Great in 1823; both were from that parish.
The christening record of their son Horatio George at Christ Church Southwark in 1823 shows their address and his father’s occupation as previously noted.
The burial aged 21 years of Sarah Bartlett, late of St Sepulchre parish, was recorded at St Luke, Finsbury.
As a widower he married Louisa Parkes at St Bartholomew the Great in 1826.
The christening record for their daughter Louisa Adelaide at St James, Clerkenwell in 1831 shows their address as King’s Square.
The christening record of another daughter Maria at St Andrew, Holborn in 1835 shows their address as Goswell Terrace and in both their father as a watch case maker
The burial of Horatio James Bartlett aged 35 years, late of Goswell Street, was recorded at St Luke, Finsbury in 1836.
