ALDERSON, Josiah (Grimwade p.298)

Post by MCB »

He married Mary Kittson at St Andrew, Holborn in 1756; both were from that parish.
The christening record of their daughter Ann at St Bride, Fleet Street in 1758 showed their address as New Street.
He entered a maker’s mark at Goldsmiths Hall in 1760 as a case maker from Pye Corner.
Indentures were signed in 1762 by Job, son of Simpson Nicholls, carpenter of St Sepulchre parish to be the apprentice of Josiah Alderson, Citizen and Clockmaker.
Four more of his children were christened at St Sepulchre, Holborn 1762-77.
His burial aged 43 years, late of (Fetter?) Lane, was recorded at St Sepulchre in 1778.
