MINCE, Charles (Grimwade p.291)

Post by MCB »

He was christened the son of Jonah (Grimwade p.305, 340) and Sarah Mince at St Luke, Finsbury in 1771.
He entered a maker’s mark at Goldsmiths Hall in 1800 from 6 St James’s Walk and notified a change of address to 1 Little Mitchel Street in 1801. Two further maker’s marks were entered in 1808 and 1810 from 59 Banner Square (sic). In 1809 he had registered a maker’s mark in partnership with his brother Jeremiah (Grimwade p.291, 305) from that address.
The christening of Charles the son of Charles and Alice Mince was recorded at St Luke’s, in 1806. The burial in 1807 of Charles Mince aged 10 months, late of Banner Street (sic), was recorded at St Luke’s. He died of burns.
All of the records show him as a case maker or watch case maker.
His burial in 1811 aged 40 years, late of Banner Street, was recorded at St Luke’s.
