NEWMAN, Augustus (Grimwade p.288)

Post by MCB »

He was christened the son of Mary Newman and William Raphael at St Luke, Chelsea in 1778.
Christenings of two sons of Augustus and Elizabeth Newman were recorded at St James, Piccadilly in 1800 and 1805.
Another son was christened at St Giles in the Fields in 1808.
None of these records show an address or father’s occupation.
He entered a maker’s mark at Goldsmiths Hall in 1813 as a gold worker from 7 Plumtree Street, Bloomsbury.
His burial aged 42 years in 1819 was recorded at St George, Bloomsbury; his last address was as previously noted.
