HUNT, Alfred (Grimwade p.288)

Post by MCB »

His marriage license shows he was the son of William Hunt an Excise man. The 1851 UK Census recorded he was born in Hampshire circa 1811.
He married Esther Ann Loft at St Bride, Fleet Street in 1833 when both were living at 81 Fleet Street.
He entered a maker’s mark at Goldsmiths Hall in 1837 as a case maker from 13 Shorts Building, Clerkenwell.
The 1841 UK Census for Rahere Street recorded him as a watch case maker.
The 1851 UK Census for Powell Street, Finsbury recorded him aged 40 years and still in the same trade.
His burial in 1857 aged 46 years, late of St John Road, Goswell Street, was recorded at St James, St Pancras.
