FAULDER, Alexander Charles (Grimwade p.287)

Post by MCB »

There is a possibility that the name has been wrongly transcribed.
No record has been found for Alexander Charles Faulder but Alfred Charles Faulder is recorded in the christening record of his son John Thomas at St Andrew, Holborn in 1813 as a jeweller at Seward Street from where the mark of 1813 was registered at Goldsmiths Hall as a goldworker.
He was christened the son of John and Anne at St Luke, Finsbury in 1786. His father was a clerk.
He married Margaret Ledster at Christ Church, Newgate in 1812.
Subsequent christening records of the children of Alfred Charles and Margaret Faulder at St Andrew, Holborn show their address as West Hastings Street in 1816, Blewitt’s Buildings in 1818, Corporation Lane, Clerkenwell in 1821 and 1822. All record him as a gold worker.
His burial aged 52 years in 1839 was recorded at St Andrew, Holborn; his last address was Charles Street.
