WHEATCROFT, William (Grimwade p.697)

Post by MCB »

He entered a maker’s mark at Goldsmiths Hall in 1831 as a small worker from Berkeley Street, Clerkenwell.
The christening record of daughter Eliza at St Paul, Canonbury in 1832 shows her parents as William and Mary Wheatcroft of Brunswick Place where her father was a brass founder.
It appears his activities in the silver trade may have been brief.
The 1841 and 1851 UK Census both recorded him as a brass founder/finisher at 18 Berkeley Street.
His burial in 1860 was recorded in the Clerkenwell register.
