He married Martha Eaton of St Alban, Wood Street parish at St Vedast, Foster Lane in 1803. Witnesses included Thomas Eaton, Robert and Ann Metham, Robert’s parents.
Indentures were signed in 1810 for William, son of William Wright, dyer of Bethnal Green to be the apprentice of Robert Metham, silversmith of Bartholomew Close.
Martha Rhodes, daughter of Robert and Martha Metham was christened at St Vedast in 1805 and her brother Thomas at the same church in 1810.
The 1851 UK Census for 2 Prospect Place, Hackney records Robert aged 71 years as an annuitant living with his wife Martha aged 68 years and son Thomas.
The England & Wales Deaths Index for the Hackney register records Robert’s death in 1854. These records do not show age or last address.
