FLETCHER, Bernard & Edith (Grimwade p.510)

Post by MCB »

Bernard Fletcher married Edith Stoder at St Andrew, Holborn in 1724; both were from that parish.
The christening record for son Simon at the same church in 1724 shows his parents address as Hatton Garden.
There are christening records for three more of their children at St Anne & St Agnes 1725-7, including in 1727, son Frederick mentioned in Grimwade’s biography for Bernard.
There is a burial recorded in March 1729 for Barnard Fletcher at St Anne and St Agnes.
Edith Fletcher is said to have entered a maker’s mark at Goldsmiths Hall between February 1729 and January 1732.
The link between Bernard (more often referred to in the records as Barnard) and Edith, at issue in their biographies, is now clear.
