DUCK, Henry (Grimwade p.497)

Post by MCB »

A document dated in 1711 states that Henry, son of Henry Duck, Citizen and Goldsmith, was made free by patrimony.
(The document has the year 1680 annotated in the margin which is presumably the father's year of freedom.)
Apprentice Indentures were agreed by a Henry Duck, Goldsmith for:
William Richard 1712, Tobijah (sic) Winne 1714, William Taylor 1717,John Shaw 1719,Thomas Chillcott 1723, Thomas Jones 1734, James Hall 1745 and William Willisby 1749.
Documents relating to the application for Freedom of the City by John Shaw show that he was turned over in 1723 to Alexander Leroux, Clockmaker.
Henry Duck’s taking on apprentices seems to end in 1749 and therefore a burial record in that name at St Anne & St Agnes in 1752 may be relevant.
