He married Elizabeth Peake at St John, Hackney in 1806; both were from that parish.
Christening records for two of their children at St Leonard, Shoreditch in 1807 and 1809 show their address as Essex Street.
A christening record for a daughter at the same church in 1811 shows their address as Gloster (sic) Row. Goldsmiths Hall had been notified in 1810 of this change of address.
Christenings records of a further 4 of their children at the same church 1813-20 repeat the previous address and show their father as either a silversmith or a surgical instrument maker.
No further records for George or Elizabeth Carsberg have been traced.
Volume II (p.75) of John Culme’s Directory of Gold & Silversmiths Jewellers & Allied Traders 1837-1914 records George Carsberg possibly trading before 1847 as a surgical instrument maker entering a mark at Goldsmiths Hall from Meredith Street, Clerkenwell in 1856. This mark may have been entered either by the original proprietor or his son, also George, born in 1807. The text continues the history of the surgical instrument making business to 1955.
