BROUGH, Thomas (Grimwade p.451)

Post by MCB »

He was christened the son of William and Mary at St Bartholomew the Great in 1774.
His Indentures signed in 1788 to be the apprentice of William Barrett, goldsmith of Aldersgate (Grimwade p.432) record his father as a tailor from Cloth Fair. Indentures for Samuel Brough (Grimwade p.451) and John Brough (Grimwade p.451) also record similar detail for their father. All three were therefore brothers.
Indentures were signed in 1798 for John son of James Wakefield deceased, broker late of Goswell Street, to be the apprentice of Thomas Brough, goldsmith of Aldersgate Street.
A Thomas Brough from St Botolph, Aldersgate married Ann Stainbridge at St Luke, Finsbury in 1799.
There is a burial recorded in 1832 at St Botolph, Bishopsgate of a Thomas Brough aged 57 years which may be relevant although the record does not show an address.
