He was christened John Wilkes Booth at St Andrew, Holborn in 1788 the son of Wilkes (Grimwade p.445) and Hannah “from Clerkenwell”.
Indentures were signed in 1802 for John, son of Wilkes Booth silversmith of Albermarle Street, Clerkenwell to be the apprentice of George Fuller, Stationer.
Christening records for his sons at St John Clerkenwell in 1813 and St James, Clerkenwell in 1817 show he continued at Albermarle Street as a silversmith.
The 1841 UK Census shows him of independent means at Beadle Street, Stamford Hill, Hackney.
His burial aged 60 years is recorded in 1848 at St John, Clerkenwell; his last address was Victoria Grove, Hornsey.
