WATTS, John Pitter (Grimwade p.368)

Post by MCB »

Goldworkers List (Section VII).

He was christened at St Paul, Covent Garden in 1804 the son of John and Emery (sic).
He entered a maker’s mark at Goldsmiths Hall in 1827 as a goldworker at 25 Ive Street.
He married Letitia Nixon in 1828 at St Pancras Parish Chapel. He was from St Faith and St Augustin parish.
The christening record for their son John James at Old St Pancras Church in 1829 shows his father as a goldsmith at Coburg Street.
The christening record for their son Albert Robert at the same church on 21 October 1832 shows his father had become a clerk in a lawyer’s office. Subsequent records for John Pitter Watts show he continued in that type of employment.
His death in 1889 is recorded in the Camberwell register.
