SADLER, Samuel (Grimwade p.379)

Post by MCB »

Goldworkers List (Section VII).

He was born in 1797 the son of Samuel and Martha and christened at St Botolph, Aldersgate.
He married Ann Sinfield at St Mary, Islington in 1819; both were from that parish.
He entered a maker’s mark at Goldsmiths Hall in 1823 as a goldworker at Goswell Street.
The christening record for their son James Richard in 1828 at St Mary, Lambeth shows his father was a jeweller from Anderson’s Walk.
The 1841 UK Census records him as a goldsmith at Featherstone Street.
By 1851 he had moved to Whitecross Street, St Luke and said he was a jeweller.
The UK Census record for 1861 has not been found.
There is an entry for a Samuel Sadler in the England & Wales Deaths Index for St Luke register in the 4th quarter of 1864. These records do not show his age or last address.
