GAUBERT, Edward (Grimwade p.359)

Post by MCB »

Goldworkers List (Section VII).

He was christened at St Andrew, Holborn in 1785. His parents were Peter and Ann.
He married Sarah Ann Buckee in 1813 at St Saviour, Southwark. Both were from that parish.
Their son Edward was christened in 1814 at St Martin in the Fields. Edward senior is recorded as a goldsmith at 17 Duke’s Place, Drury Lane.
He entered maker’s marks at Goldsmiths Hall in 1826 and 1828 as a goldworker at 6 Searle Place, Lincoln’s Inn.
Indentures signed in 1828 for his son Edward to become his apprentice record him as Citizen and Haberdasher and a goldsmith at Serle’s (sic) Place, Lincoln’s Inn.
A website family tree for Gaubert records he died in Hounslow in 1832.
