REID, George (Grimwade p.639)

Post by MCB »

Died 1844.
One of his addresses in 1819 having been Dean Street, Fetter Lane the entry in the London Deaths & Burials Index for St Andrew, Holborn register dated 12th September 1844 giving the same last address seems relevant. Age at death 44 years.
For further biography see John Culme's Directory of Gold & Silversmiths 1838-1914 Vol 1 p.384.

6 May 1801 George son of William Reid of Rose Lane Spitalfields in the County of Middlesex dyer apprenticed to Thomas Jackson turner of London. The master in this case surely fits one of the Thomas Jacksons on Grimwade p.559 or another member of their family.
