Grimwades presumption that her husband, Robert, was dead by the date of her first mark , 4 March 1783 is borne out by the probate of his will at PCC on 25 February 1783 ( Reference TNA/PROB 11/1100/411- Will of Robert Purton, Silversmith of Saint John Zachary within the Ward of Aldersgate , City of London.)
The widows of silversmiths rarely wasted any time after proving their husbands will !
