TIDBURY, James (Grimwade p. 398)

Post by buckler »

15th Jan 1784 - James Tidbury , son of Job Tidbury , Castle Street, Leicester Fields, Middlesex, Turncock (water company employee) , was apprenticed to Richard Parr, Spectaclemaker's Company.
Richard Parr was recorded in Pr 1773 as a bucklemaker and his will proved in 1788 mentions James Tidbury and John Davenport as apprentices, James receiving £20.00 and a watch and John £5.5.0 . Parr obviously knew the Tidbury's as he also left James Tidbury's mother a small legacy .

9th July 1788
Entered a mark as bucklemaker at 8, Castle Street, Leicester Square This is obviously his father's premises or near to them, and was soon after Richard Parr's death. Whether he ever finished his apprenticeship is unknown

Moved to 95, Swallow Street, near Hanover Square by 8 July 1796.

Westminster Pollbooks: Votes in Westminster Elections, 1749-1820 1st January 1802 - 31st December 1802
