A Henry Cox Mason, son of William Mason , Bermondsey Wall, Southwark, Surrey, watchmaker and goldsmith, was apprenticed to Thomas Cloak, Loriner's Company on 2nd May 1770. This may have been a younger brother as the area, Southwark, was where William Mason entered his only mark, as a bucklemaker at 146, High Street , Borough on 24th March 1778

Re: MASON, William (Grimwade p.405)
The date of 1735 appears inconsistant with the William Mason above who entered a mark as a bucklemaker in 1778 and sold his business in 1783. The above buckle maker may however have been the brother of the Henry Cox Mason , son of William Mason , Bermondsey Wall, Southwark, Surrey, watchmaker and goldsmith, who was apprenticed to Thomas Cloak, , Loriner's Company on 2 May 1770 . Thus this bill may have been William Mason Snr who appears to had married one of the Cox family
