EATON, Charles (Grimwade p.388)

Post by buckler »

Charles Eaton entered his first mark, as a bucklemaker at 4, Princes Street, Barbican on 7th December 1786. About a year later he was succeeded by Joseph Griffin who entered his mark as bucklemaker at that address, Charles Eaton having moved to 4, Salisbury Court, Fleet Street by 4th April 1789.

There were several bucklemaking Eatons in Salisbury Court in the 1790’s
James Eaton at No 2 in 1793
Robert Eaton at No3 in 1787 -1789
James Eaton & John Sleap at No 3 in 1790 -1793
Charles Eaton at No 4 in 1789
Thomas Eaton & Brook Walker at No 4 in 1798

Whether any of these were related to John and Samuel Eaton in the City at Gutter Lane and Huggins Lane is unknown.

As is their relationships to each other .
