Death Notice: On Monday last died, of a fever, Mr Godfrey, a Jeweller and Silversmith in Norris Street in the Haymarket, a man of very considerable business.
If the above account is accurate, then Benjamin Godfrey's date of death would have been the 11th May 1741

The Will of Benjamin Godfrey, jeweller late of St James, Westminster, was granted probate on 15th May 1741 (National Archives reference PROB 11/709/329).

3 February 1731 Benjamin Godfrey of the Parish of Saint James batchelor and Jeweller made an oath to marry Elizabeth "Betters" widow of the same parish.
