Which animal is this?

HELLO
I was wondering which animal engraved on a set of forks by G W Shirtcliffe & Son Sheffield 1946 this might be? Is it a Kangaroo?

Hi Niceguy,
No, not a kangaroo, they are herbivores, so they would not hunt. I guess this is likely to be interpreted as being a greyhound seizing a hare.

Thanks Trev & as usual you are right. I didn’t even realize there are two animals involved in this scene.
It might possibly be the heraldry of the Brisco/Briscoe family.
